I recently bought a string for my MQ1. It came from the factory with the label indicating the right length (95 1/16). We measured it as 94.5. The guys at the local 'pro shop' can't squeeze it in. They're worried to crank the press any more.

PS I got the string in - The guys at the 'pro shop' weren't even cranking the limbs down to the normal axle to axle length - Thanks for all the replies.

Probaly best to check with Matthews to make sure that it isn't a misprint on the label. Make sure that the string matches the limb and cam specs.

Hi guys - Shel with ProString here. It is very common to have the string measure short with no tension on them - usually 5/8" - 3/4" for a one cam bow. They are somewhat elastic and will go back to full length after being under tension for about 24 hours. If you change your cable at the same time you have no worries, but if you didn't you will have to add 4-6 twists to your yc to get your bow back in time/program. You will not have a problem with length - don't worry. After you are done measure your axel to axel length and compare it to specs from the manufacturers site if they publish them. This shoud put your mind to ease. If I can be of any help feel free to e-mail me at Shel@ProString.com or look at our site at www.ProString.com - possibly some help on the q&a page. Shel.
