Hi, I'm terry from Chatham Ontario. I'm very new to bow hunting, actually just bought a new Reflex Buckskin about 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to find an archery club in the area with someone who can help me get started. I basically know nothing about compound bows, I have hunted a little with a horton crossbow. I want to set up my bow, and have looked at the tuning tips on the site. But I think that I require even more basic instructions. My bow has a shoot through site, but to tell you the truth, i dont even know how it is supposed to be set--or work. can someone out there help me get started? the site looks great, seems like there is a lot of experienced people out there. any help would be a great help. Please bare with me, I'm new to these forum discussions.Thanks--Tacker

Tacker if I were you I'd head for the nearest Pro shop and get some help from them. Hopefully you can find an archery club too. Tell them just what you've told us. You're new and need some help. Don't be afraid to ask questions and if that pro shop won't help go find one that will. This site is great for getting help from but the touble with the internet is there is no way anyone can help with things on a first hand basis. Everyone here is very helpfull but you need to get the basics from someone that can show you. Hang out here though, it's one of the best bow hunting sites on the net!!!

Hey Tacker! Welcome to the bowzone! I would agree with gumby. For your first bow, you should get your local pro shop to help you set it up. Watch and learn from them if you can. Once you've seen it in action, it's easy to put all of the information on the bowzone here to use.

Welsome again and if there's anything we can do to help, please let us know!

Welcome to this site and to the bow-hunting fraternity! As with anything else, the best way to learn is through others who share the same passion.

Be warned: Bow hunting is more addictive than golf but generally involves much less swearing, but equal amounts of time in the trees!

Hi Everyone,
New to this site and also new to Bow Hunting.
I am looking for directions to where I can find a mobile bow press. Saw one on a site but cannot find it again. It was a piece over each end of the bow and a ratchet system of pulling the strain off the limbs?
Anyone know where I can see it again and maybe purchase it.
Thanks

I disagree with heading for a pro. shop. I would try to find a 3d shoot or an archery clubs practice night. Talk to guys that shoot most guys will show you and even let you shoot there bows.

I have been rite where you are now. I bought a bow that the archery shop asured me was a good bow. The first time at a practice shoot i know i had been sold a peace of corruption.
