Warden, I am not sure where the video orginated but that is something you do not see very often. I have seen bear take carcasses but nothing live that I know about.... Very orginal

That was a cool video. That bear packed off that calf like it was nothing. I've heard of bears following pregnant cows (after their water breaks) waiting for them to calve and eating the newborns before they can get up but it looked to me that the moose calf was more than a couple of hours old.

I wasn't able to see the video,but if set on the side of a lake with the cow looking on,it was taken by a fishermen on Long Lake in Sudbury,Ontario this past summer,I can get his name if you really want it.

I think I saw it on a moose show that there alot of calf moose taken by bears. Aparrently bears are a calfs biggest threat and a fairly high pecentage are lost to bears in some areas.
