Isn't the Warden normally pretty quick to respond to posts? Funny... he's nowhere to be found now :?
The sooner the Warden posts the story the sooner we get the obligatory abuse over with and move on to other things!

Well since I am getting called out here....Here's what happened....
We went whitetail deer hunting on Saturday night and pulled into the spot with about 45 mins to spare. We sat up on top of the west ridge and jackal pointed out where the stand was. There was a house about 2 miles away on the other side of the valley that we used as a point of reference. We got down to the bottom and split up. Now keep in mind that I have never been to this stand......I walked down the fence line to where I was supposed to go and ended up on the west side of the valley. To make a long story short...I looked for this damn stand on the west side of the fence for too long and didn't have time to get back over to where jackal was to ask him it's exact location. I looked and looked but I never found the damn thing so I ended up hunkered down under a tree. Jackal had mentioned that the tree was 42 yards from the fence and the tree I was under was 42 yards from the fence. I had good cover and was ready to rock. Well the 4x4 that I was hoping to run into came out right in front of me. Just as I got into position and began to draw my bow.....a doe walked in front of the buck. GRR!....So I sat back and waited.....20 mins goes by and I wait......All of a sudden the wind changes and bam! I'm busted!! Deer blowing, snorting and running like they just saw jackal in the morning.
After dark, I went over to where Jackal and Cheryl were hunting and he asked me how the hunt went....Said it would have gone better if I had found the tree stand...Jackal said "WHAT?!?!?!? You didn't find it?"
Well, we went for a walk up the trail on the "EAST" side of the fence (Note::No one ever told me that it was on the east side of the fence) and we got up to the tree that I was sitting under.....I shined my flashlight to the left on it and said "That's where I was sitting" and jackal shined his flashlight to the right and said "there's the stand" ... I was 100 yards west of the damn thing. If I had been in the stand...I would be eating a yummy whitetail ..... LOL! I would like to think that if my buddy jackal had taken the hooked on phonics course in sentence and paragraph structure......he may not have forgotten the key element in the directions......EAST SIDE OF THE FENCE...LOL!
Still had a blast. But I can guaran.....damn....tee ya that I will never forget where that stand is now.

hooked on phonics eh well if you would have realized the wind always blow from the west in this country the stand of coarse would be on the east side so the wind would be in your face .LOL LOL LOL You'll get him next time

Long Time No Login...spending way too much time at work this month helping the Mounties find the local dope growers from the air with a CF helicopter. But it is fairly similar to hunting just the same, similar tactics involved.
Now...on to poor Warden. I do indeed feel your pain Warden, and it's obvious your close freinds are relishing in the opportunity to lash out at you ( all in good fun for sure ). That said, take the pain and the verbal abuse for the short term, and remain silent...because YOU KNOW those who are giving it to you from your 6:00 now are just on the doorstep of a blunder themselves. And once that happens...and you know it will...revenge by the publically written word will be all yours. Like they said in that lame ass movie Kill Bill..."Revenge is a dish best served cold !"
You'll get your chance to re-pay those who have criticized.
That said, just how big of an 8 pointer would you be bragging about had you actually found the stand...( sorry, but I'm not really a Leafs fan either, unless they are winning...then I jump on that bandwagon too !)
Looking forward to my Deer hunt in Cold Lake from 9 - 17 October. You Alberta guys truly live in the hunters paradise.

From the key board of a Blundering dude that the Warden will exploit at any opportunity .......
You just get used to it after a while ..... Its nice to go the other direction every now and then .....
LOL
Dont worry Warden you will get him someday
oh and Cody .... You gotta remember .... Warden has no sense of direction .... he couldnt tell ya where the wind was coming from .... not even that giant pass that makes Lethbridge the windiest place in Canada
he can just tell ya that its blowin outside
