Who has tried the Darkhorse Stud Series Arrows? I gave them a shot last fall and had great results. I was having problems getting proper spine with my setup and wanted to try another arrow. After trying the Darkhorse, they fit me well and I was getting excellent arrow flight. First day out and I was lucky to tag this Mule Deer. What is everybody else's thoughts?

I've been researching arrows for the past week and only just heard about Darkhorse Archery today. I'd be interested in hearing peoples thoughts on these arrows as well.

NOTE: This poster is biased! Honesty is the best policy!
I have only been shooting the Darkhorse STUDs for a few weeks and so far I'm more than happy with the results! They fly beautifully and look even better - the cross weave pattern is especially nice!
I'm shooting a Limbsaver Deadzone Lite 60 lb draw weight @ 28" with the 340 spine Stud cut to 29". On my hunting arrow using the 2" VaneTec fletch and the 1.5" high profile VaneTec on my 3-D arrows. Both are exceptional set-ups! The STUDS come with inserts and nocks to fit!
Note: the finish on the STUD Series is so smooth that pulling them out of 3-D targets without lube is a challenge. After about fifty or so rounds they do become easier to pull. Also, the Darkhorse label wears quiclkly but I understand a fix is in the works for that on the next production run - wear doesn't affect the flight in any way!
I also have some 400 and 500 spine STUDS and in the next while will see which of those work best in my 55lb recurve and longbows!
Why biased? At this point VantagePoint Outfitters is the only retailer selling the Darkhorse line! :D I hope lots of you will give this premium Canadian designed and developed arrows a fling!

No, they are available in 340 spine and the STUDS are very accurately measured. You will find they to be very close to that whereas some other arrows tend to vary by a good margin. So the Darkhorse 340's might just work well for you. What are your specs? Draw weight? Length of shaft?

i am shooting a 29/70 alphaburner with arrows cut to 28inches with 2in blazers and 100gr heads... according to the ot2 software i need a 300 spine arrow. was looking at the 450 maximas or the gt velocity hunters 300's.. but if i can get the dark horse arrows to fit me i would probably try them.

I use a darton 3800 at 28.5 and have plenty of spine with the 340 and 100 grain points. This arrow weighs 400 grains and I am getting 298 fps. The Darton 3800 would be very comparable to the Hoyt for energy cams so I would expect the 340s to be more than adequate for your setup. In fact, I use the 400s with a 100 glue in point for 3D with that bow and get proper spine. If you are around Lethbridge, I would be more than happy to let you test drive my arrows.
