Jackals 2004 hunting season

Well so far so good I was out this weekend and I bagged my whitetail buck 120 to 125 class.Then went out for elk I had them bugling like crazy there was 2 bull one 5 point and a six . Got them in to 80 yards had a spike come to 25 yards then the wind swirled and they were gone. I think next weekend will be better the elk should be in stonger rutting and come to the calls better .

I envy you Cody...Terence Voth here from Saskatchewan...I met you at the Nationals last year. I have been trying this bowhunting stuff and it is a lot of fun. Stalked an imature mulie buck to 18 steps...What a rush!!!!!!!!!!! I had the chance to slide up the hill and back down again to get a pic. Not a very good pic, but it was fun!......Taking animals with archery equipment is quite a challange! Well done Cody and say hi to Shaun for me.

Well I went out hunting elk again last night got into a herd of about 35 head dont know why but they were not very responsive to the calls had a small 4 point come to 18 yards but figured he was not what I was looking for the herd bull was a 6 point but just could not get him to leave his cows . But I did find a nice mule deer he is a solid 4+4 with sticker point everywhere I guess him to be in th mid 180's I hope to get close to him on Saturday,But with the horseshoes my hunting buddie Dave has up his A$$ he will probably be the one to get a shot at him.Hope everyone else is having as much fun as I am hunting GOOD LUCK!!

Well I went out to see if I could find an elk I went to where the elk are hanging alot and found a herd of about 50 head.Started calling and a nice 5+5 came in to 35 yards I took the shot the elk was in the fog I hurd the arrow find its mark the elk bolted and ran on to land I dont have permission on and layed down about 200 yards from where I shot him I'm pretty sure the hit is good the elk was laying there making some gurgling sounds when I left .So if the land owner will let me go on his land I should have myself a good 5+5 bull elk.
