I am looking for a new hunting release. Any suggestions on which way to go? I am using a velcro wrist strap right now. Are there any on the market that are buckle up and fold away or not rigid, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

I use a Fletchunter release and like it very much. The strap is connected to the release by nylon webbing. I belive Tru-ball is making a new one with this same design. Scott Little Goose is another that has a rope that goes from the strap to the head.

I was kind of leaning that way(fletchhunter). The local shop has the type you hold on to. Very smooth release. A little pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for. Thanks.

The deluxe looks like this pic shows the 3d head

the othe style doesn't have velcro you just put your hand thru it and as you draw it tightens up on your wrist.

I use the TOP GUN realease from GoldenKey it buckles up and it is on a nylon conection so it lets you use your hand freely and fits your hand nice.

I've got a simple cobra pro caliper release, it works great and was only $59.00 at Wholesale Sports

Here's a pic

I have been using the new Nasty Boy Back Tension Release from ABC Archery. It is a pretty sweet release, even for hunting. Watch for an upcoming review.

How do those back tension releases work?

They work really good. My accuracy has improved with it.

Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. What releases's it? Is it really back tension? You have to bear with me. This stuff is all new to me. This is my first year. I am pretty sure there will be many more questions about alot of things. It is a good thing for this site.

I use the same Cobra release as Grunter. The good part is it's always where you want it when you go to shoot - right in the palm of your hand. The bad part is it's in the palm of your hand when you go to grab something else!
