Looking forward to our first season with a bow in hand. Good luck to all and may everyone fill their freezers and get the bonus of a wall hanger.
One other thing PETA just so you know Claudia is next

Well this was my first season with a bow and didn't get out as much as I would have liked due to a new arrival to the family but here is what I learned with bowhunting the first year
- first I stalked to within 25 yards of WT buck approx 140-150 but my friend that was waiting downwind decided I was talking too long and took the 65 yd shot. The best part was I laughed when I heard his bow.
- I was within 10 feet of a doe group of 10 animals and I drew my bow but her fawn came bounding up and he was still little so I let down.
- Elk season led us to locate lots of animals 2 heards ( 20 ) (50)and we learned that we have to close the distance to 100- 200 yard before setting up to call. Oh and we were in 417 in the end of August and had a huge 7X7 come to our calling but he didn't get that way by being stupid and he proved it.
- While cow calling we had a lion stalk us to within 65 yards and the bear bangers we carried came in handy.
- The other night I rattled in a nice WT out of the tree stand but I could not coax him into the shooting lane and he stayed in the willows.
I have one day left and I am going to head out and make the most of it, as well I was determined to take something with my Bow which is why I will have to wait to fill my freezer until the last day.
THIS IS A VERY VERY COOL WAY TO HUNT AND LET ME TELL YOU MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS ARE HOOKED AND WE ARE ALREADY PLANNING FOR NEXT YEAR AS WELL.
Oh and to the ELK and DEER , for next year be afraid be very afraid because I will be back.
