We were up west of Sundre in the 400's on Saturday we heard lots of bulls bugling and we had one come in but no further than 89 yards he was a 7X7 and what a sight when he laid those antlers back and ripped into one at us. Unfortunately we could not get him any closer but what a thrill. I am still shaking. Later in the afternoon we tried to stalk a WT bukc but got busted due to the swirling winds. I believe that I am going to be hooked on Bowhunting as it was non stop action and heart pounding.

I love this going back this weekend

There is nothing quite like the feeling of being that close to any big game animal. Even my 2 point muley I got on Friday gave me a case of the shakes. Wait til you have a bear at 20 yards and he doesn't know you are there. Took my 16 year old out yesterday and let him put a stalk on a black bear. Unfortunately the wind wasn't in our favor but as I was walking behind him I could see his legs shaking as he was walking. We only made it to within about 100 yards but when we got back to the truck he said he only wanted to hunt deer and bears with a bow. Moose he will still do with a rifle but I know as soon as he gets his first moose with a rifle it will be bow all the way. Glad to hear you got the big rush.

Sigh.... Another seemingly normal person that is lost to the addiction of elk hunting. Unfortunately for you all it takes is one try at it and you're hooked for life. Welcome to the family of Elkaholics. Glad to see you've at least admitted your addiction. Good Luck!!!!
