well, headed out this morning east of Edmonton on hwy 16. On the drive out almost rolled over a coyote in the middle of the highway eating some sort of roadkill from a few days ago. Hard swerve at 115Kph will wake you up in a hurry if your not already. Then, just after the Esso and tempo on the hill looks like a solid buck got taken out. Only part of his left antler remains intact. After watching from the stand a 140 5x5 with a 6th point on the right side (split g1) walk by, and then a small 4x4 a bit later I headed home. On the westbound side fo the highway lays a maybe 2.5 year old bull moose in the ditch. would have happily put my tag oin him if he would have walked past my stand this morning. Erg! Another one that wont make it into my freezer.
Not sure if the 'yote got hit, but both the buck and the bull were casualties last night.
So anyway, heads up out there on the roads, its that time of year.
