I just thought I would introduce myself. I live in Ontario and am new to the whole area of bow hunting/archery. I have been a gun hunter for 15 years (waterfowl, uplands, moose) and always wanted to add a bow to my repertoire. I have not hunted deer in the past, so that is my plan with the bow. I took the plunge this past week and purchased a Hoyt Ultrasport, Hoyt vectrix sight, Lynx quiver, cobra release and Beaman ICS carbon arrows. My credit card is still smoldering. :-)
The guy at the local bow shop was just great. He spent over 2 hours with me getting me set up. And I get 2 hours of instruction with my kit at the indoor range.
This seems like a good place to hang around while I learn and practice, practice, practice.
Thanks
TonyMo

I'm in London Ontario. Since I am surrounded by farm country, there are a whole lotta deer around. I just don't know any farmers. Perhaps it's time to go make a few new friends

Hey Tony, From one newbie to another Hi. I spent some time in London during my army days. Left once I saw the light and got out of the army. Nice place though.

Welcome aboard Tony. Lots of great people here. Its always nice to see another convert to bowhunting. Looking forward to a great season. Heading out tomorrow for the start of bow season here in the Cariboo. With any luck I may have to purchase another deer tag by the time I get back. Will be hunting moose, elk, mule deer, whitetails and bear..

Hi TonyMo!

Shel with ProString Archery in Minnesota here. Nice group of people here at Bowzone, always ready to offer any help they can. Positive attitudes are common here and I always find that refreshing. Sounds like you are off to a good start - welcome to Bowhunting! Getting to know people thru archery is the most fun there is. It opens doors, starts conversations an makes friends. You might have good luck getting hunting land by just knocking on doors just after dinnner when people are most likely home and relaxing. Many farmers enjoy having deer in particular thinned from the crop areas. They also ask you back if you offer a trade of services, help with chores once in a while, maybe fix a fence, and offer them a bit of the venison you harvest from their land as a thank you. Doesn't have to be a lot, just a taste for a meal is something they remember next time you want to hunt. Enjoy! Shel
