Question for the westerners

Whats your Whitetail season like? Whats your bag limit?

I just came to Nova Scotia from Manitoba. In NS I get to harvest One deer of the antlered variety unless I get lucky enough to get picked in the Doe lottery then I can still only get one deer but it may be a doe if I wish. Thats one deer using whatever hunting implement you choose. Season runs from end sept to mid Dec.

In Manitoba I could get an Archery Tag, a Rifle tag, A shotgun Tag, A muzzleloader Tag (all for either buck or doe) and depending on which zone I was hunting in I could get second and third antlerless tags.....Possible total of 6. (I only had two tags last year)
Season ran from end Aug to End Nov for Bow with a couple of weeks for rifle and a cople of weekd for ML in the middle someplace.

Well here in B.C. depending on the region you are hunting seasons will run from Sept 1 to Dec 20. Most regions you can only take one whitey, we have one region where you can take 2 bucks, and one where you can take one buck and one doe.

Muley season run the same time frame and the most you can take is 2 bucks, although most regions also only allow one, and some areas only allow 1 every 2 years.

We also have blacktails in one specific region where you can have 5 in your possesion and 15 total for the year.

With all the other species we can hunt here with over the counter tags, hunting opportunities are only limited by your time and resources. If you fill your deer tag early you can go hunt moose, black bear, elk, sheep, goats, turkeys, cougars, wolves, etc., etc.

Where I'm at in Alberta I can take an over the counter mule deer buck and can take a white-tail buck or doe on a general tag,as long as there is a doe season open and then I can also take a doe with a supplemental tag in an open wmu.hope this makes sence :roll:
