Well I got my antelope draw, so it's off to the south to chase speed goat with the bow it could be very interesting since it's going to be the first for me with the bow. I've got the decoy made so now it's time to start looking for maps and all the free advice and pointers anybody wants to give.........:D

Right on, my partner and I also drew Archery tags in the south, this will only be our second try at Antelope with stick and string but if its anything like the last time I can't wait!
Decoying is a blast, better if you have a partner to run the decoy as well as the rangefinder,we took turns running the decoy.
What did you make your decoy out of? Just remember its usually 50k winds down there so your decoy has to be fairly rigid as well as water proof.
One last bit of advise....bring knee pads, they were a savior!!

Sweet! Have fun out there, always considered antelope to be the closest thing to an exotic species here in North America, kind of the odd ball of game here. Mulestalkr mentioned high winds being the norm conditions and while I know all the gear is likely dialed in and ready, if you are sporting a drop away rest FOB's should be on the list to try!
They take alot of margin for error right out of the windy shots, its where these things really shine, even compared to a 2"Blazer style vane! They just don't seem to move off point for wind! Just a thought.
Go get ur self a 'speed goat', as Chris Brackett calls em!

thanks for the tips guys. My decoy is made of plywood with spray foam then painted so it is sturdy and weather proof at the moment I'm going to do a solo hunt so I put spikes on the legs so I can stick the decoy in the ground a bit range and shoot, hope it works. I've been waiting for this hunt for a long time so just the trip and the adventure is going to be a blast!!!!!

Speaking of Chris Brackett, that episode of Arrow Affliction where he was hunting antelope he keyed in on the fact you usually always see them in groups. So he rounded up some old decoys or 3D targets spray painted them to look like antelope and placed them in groups around his blind. Now I know its tv but it sure seem to generate alot of action having more than one decoy!
I hope you get the chance to connect on one... you must post pictures!!

Don't worry if I get a speed goat with a stick and string you'll get too see the pics it will be the high light of my hunting season. I just found out I get to go hunt antelope with my nephew in sask and be his decoy man so I get to test my decoy before I hunt in ab.
