Just wondering what others think of the Bulldog FP target? Do you own one and your likes/ dislikes.

can't say i'm a big fan of bulldog targets, on the bright side they are priced reasonibly, but from what i have seen they don;t last so well. Our club has alot of them, only started shooting them about mid way through jan this year and we are starting to get pass throughs already.

don't go on what I'm saying; see what the general concensus is, I'm only one voice and never make any assumptions on just one persons opinion.

good luck

I've had a bulldog target for 2 1/2 years & I take with me to all the 3 D tournaments we travel to & when hunting.
I haven't had any pass throughs. I can't say how many shots it has taken, but during the hunting season there are 3 of us shooting at it for 1-2 hrs every weekend until it gets to cold to shoot outside, usually mid to end of nov. My trailer is parked on private land at my hunting spot from sept to end of nov.

I have been shooting Bulldog Targets for the past two years.

I like the fact that they are CDN made, easy to pull arrows from, reasonably priced, and for the most part stop my arrows(unless it's time for a new one). I dislike the fact that like all other archery targets they don't last forever.

When it comes to different individuals evaluating targets, I believe it's like comparing apples to oranges. This has a lot to do with the inability to effecitvely evaluate the type of wear and tear the target has taken. For example, bow poundage, arrow diameter, type of points, number of shots, sun exposure, oversize tips, how they are mounted, etc all play a huge part in target longevity.

Morrells, Spyder Webs, BullDogs, Reinhardts, etc. there are pros and cons to all of them.

If you decide on a FP or any other portable target and you are interested in prolonging it's usable life, shoot it in a hanging position as it helps absorb much of the arrows energy.

Good luck deciding on a portable target.....if that's why you're asking!

I have had one for a couple of years and pound the hell outta it .... I have found that if you are starting to poke out the backside ... lay it down shot side down and jump on it a few times ... stand it back up reversed and you are good to go.

I have shot everything from Fat Aluminum logs to skinny lil ACEs and everything in between at it with all sorts of differant feild points ....

For the price its good ... Durability wise I compare it to the Morrells super duper with i bought one 4 years ago and shot that exclusivly untill I got the Bulldog .... I like the Bulldog better cause its free standing and therefore I can throw it in my wagon and go. I shoot at both of them fairly regularly

I'd like those posting to specify their experience with the Doghouse FP or Doghouse FF or Doghouse XP. I've only shot the FP and was VERY disappointed. I was burying arrows past the vanes at 20 and 30 yards the first day. I have stopped shooting this target after about 60 shots! It sits in my shed and my Spyderweb gets all the action.

I'm shooting 400 grain Easton Axis and FMJ's at 300fps. What gives? Are the FF and XP's any better?

Well all i can say is that i have NOT had any issues with mine. My son and i shoot regularly at it and still very good, with no pass throughs or burring to the vanes. Im shooting a APA at over 300fps.
The next fact i like is they are Canadian made and warrenty cant be beat.

I have the FP as well as 2 others...the big target one and the flat face one for punching paper.

I shoot crossbow bolts, arrows from ACE's and up...all with no issues...You should give Seth a call...I'm sure he'll warranty your target for you.

My brother and I both had the FP targets, both of them were shot out with in the first week of shooting, not sure why but they would not hold up for us. I have two range Dog targets here that are holding up pretty well so far one is two years old and the other is one year old.

Overall they are not a bad target, depends on how much you shoot and at what distance you shoot. I know of one other guy who is a Trad shooter that shot his out in less than a month, 10 yards hammering it in basement every day for a couple hours with really heavy arrows. I dont care what target it is not going to stand up to heavy shooting at short range for very long.

We have 21 of the K9 targets at our range, we have started to use them this Jan we have 4 of them getting shot three nights a week, two of them have had pass throughs with our junior kids arrows. Talked to Seth at Nationals and he is taking care of it for us.

Hello all, I got the FP this spring ( thanks Seth) and it has only seen a couple hundred arrows so far but it seems to be holding up well. When the boys come out to hunt bears I will bring it out and let them put it thru the ringer and I will up date in the future.:)
