It's to bad that it's looking like Calgary might not have the "Shoot for a Cure" shoot ?
Kevin & Dawn put on a good shoot.
Maybe we can get people to step up to the plate & still have one since it's looking like they can't do it, as it's a great idea to have a shoot like this.
What do other shooters think??

Yeah, it's been a great shoot in the past and undoubtedly supports a great cause. Alberta archers don't want to see this event come to an end.
What do you need people to "step up" and do?

After speaking with Jim Collins of the Calgary Archers, there just isn't time to make the shoot come off this year and cover the costs associated with the venue at this late date. With Dawns mom in the hospital for the past several months there just hasn't been any effort put into the shoot by either of us.
The dates for the building have already been given back and the venue rebooked.
After speaking with Jim we hope to bring this shoot back next year and are looking at booking dates for the Hunt for A Cure for next year. This shoot is very important to both of us and we hope to be able to give it the attention it deserves next year.

I really appreciate that Al. We are just hoping that Dawns mom (Janice) has a placement in a good care facility soon. Three months seems like an eternity to be in the hospital with no end in sight (3-6 months more waiting for a bed in a care facility) as there is no cure for Huntingtons Disease at this time.
The shoot will be back, until a cure can be found for Huntingtons........
Kevin
sorry to heear that Al, prayers with you, Dawn and your family!
Lets get a spot found guys we can still ahve a shoot here in calgary!

Sorry to hear Merv, My Dad passed away 3 years ago july of Parkinsons, from what I have read there is quite a few similarities between the two. I know what you are going through if you ever need someone to chat at or holler at don't be afraid to.
Sure wish we could get a shoot going down there for this cause.

Plans are already underway to have this shoot back next year (venue has been booked). With Dawn's mom entering the hospital time has been at a premium. Hopefully she will have a placement in a care facility soon and we can get things back on track to some extent.
Dawn and I both wish you and your wife all the best if you ever need to talk with Dawn or her Dad about what they are going through and what support is available out there I am sure they would be willing to talk with you. Let me know and I can have either of them get in touch.
