Bought this stand for myself last year. Used it once and discovered my shoulder couldn't carry the load so I sold it to a friend. Today I talked him into doubling with me on a whitetail calling hunt. Him in his climber, me in my new one. So, I got to the spot I wanted to be on my tree and started settling in. Next thing I hear - Russ! I wave in his direction thinkin' wtf he kill somethng already? ! Then it's RUSS! I'm in a bit of a pickle. So I climb down from tree and walk over to him - there he is. Sittin' in his climber with the platform hanging precariously about 2' below his feet!
Here's the moral of the story, make sure the seat & platform are tethered together and also make sure it won't be out of reach if it does slide down the tree.
Also - if you have a Strongbuilt with the rubber bungee tether back it up with something that actually works. The manufacturer also placed it on the side, bad deal that is. The platform not only ended up out of reach, it was also unusable since it ended up laying sideways against the tree.
