Heh...Ya, no doubt. Well, if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. We were either about 3-5 mins out of position or 10 yards too far away...This hunting Mule deer on the prarie with no cover sucks sometimes...But we did see one of the grandaddy's just before dark.... HOLY SMOKES WAS HE HUGE!!

8) 8)
It's probably not bad luck that did ya'. Prairie hunting is always a crapshoot.
Sir_Huntsalot is right tho', hunting is way more important than work, and there.s only a few weeks left.
I've been refusing the OT at work and been getting out at least once a week. Yesterday, I stalked to about 40 Yds. on a whitey that turned out to be a doe(oh well, good stalk anyways).
I also got to about a hundred yards from a group of 5 feeding moose. They walked away without me panicking them, and this is good. I now know where they feed and the route they use back into the hills, and this is where I'll be at first light next Fri.
It's about the time when you'll have to start playing hookey from work, Scott. Hang in there and good things'll come to ya!

Heh.....The rotten thing is, is that I am moving this weekend coming up and that was my last ditch effort to snap anything down south.. ...So, after I get moved, I am mountain bound.... :D

Unfortunately, no draw for moose this year, that's why my moose season ends next Fri. Oh well, I'm a priority 3 (4 next year) so maybe I'll get a chance to really reach out and whack one.
I did get a cow elk draw, though, so that's where I'll be next Sat., just me and my 7mm.

Tell me out the difficulty with prairie hunting for mulies. Just got back from down south, was within 70 yards or closer 4 times on 3 different nice bucks before the cover ran out. Then got within 35 yards of a nice 5x5, but the only patch of 8 ft high buck brush for miles was directly between the two of us. Of course he wouldn't co-operate and moved directly away from me. Oh well thems the breaks. Maybe next year. Heading north next week with the boom sticks.

I hear ya!
I'd like to fling sticks at elk, but my tag only gives me 23 days to get one. Next year I'll be back at priority 0, so I'll get a general elk tag and see if I can stick an arrow in one.
