Hello All! I am 16 years old, turning 17 in November, (the best month in the whole damn year!) I just started bowhunting last October and love being out in the woods. This April I took the National Bowhunters Education course, so of course that makes me an expert, :lol: not! I know that I still have ALOT to learn about this great sport. Anyhow, I shot my first deer last year, with the .30-06 instead of my bow. It's amazing how much they shrink once you're on the ground and 200 yards closer! When I shot he was a huge 20-point, but when we looked at him, he turned out to be a small 2 1/2 year old six-pointer. But oh well the meat was great! Anyhow, i'm just hoping to pick up some information from you guys and gals about the sport of Bowhunting. Thanks, Peter.

Hey welcome in Peter. This is a great site and you can be sure everyone here will be glad to help you out if they can. Funny how those horns seem to shrink up once the deer hit the ground!!!

Hey, looky there......another "Ontarian"!! Welcome Peter, you seem to be mature beyond your years. I know alot of older people that still can't admit they could stand to learn more. Congrats on the deer, good luck this season!

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement guys! It really is funny how those antlers shrink when a deer gets a piece of the "big lead pill"! Siko, where abouts do you hunt? I am here in 82A.... it is a great spot. This year i'm hoping to draw an extra tag, so I have one for bow season, and one for the gun season- so I can take a week off school. :lol: FYI- Anybody in Ontario who hasn't got the letter in the mail this year we all have a chance to get 6 extra tags!!! (Depending on what WMU you are in). Is Ontario turning into Alabama?? :lol:

Buckeye;

I hunt deer in WMU 45 (St. Joseph Island) and moose in WMU 3 (Red Lake area).
