Shooting at a local shoot this past Saturday, putting the finishing touches on my game preparing for the smackdown, I came by a wonderful discovery that will help 3D'ers and outdoor spotties alike (spotties that are allowed to use scopes anywho)
We took a tremendous amount of rain Friday night. And when I arrive at the range at 9:00 a.m., the leaves are still wet. After verifying that H_P's ultratec is ready to sling some 12's, I grab up a few shooters and head out to face the 3D targets. About halfway through the course, one of the shooters stumbled into a sapling tree and of course........ all of the water trapped in the leaves ends up on my 4x lense. (some folks will do anything to win )
"No Sweat" I think to myself, after Roanoke this ain't nothing. I reach into the stool to retrieve the Leupold lense pen to remedy things. Of course...... The pen is on my workbench shelf where I cleaned the lense before heading out. So now I'm sweating it.
Then, one of the guys pulls out a TAMPAX and starts walking my way. I'm all about a good time but I'm thinking I need to shoot this freak before he gets any closer
PUT THE TAMPON DOWN AND SLOWLY BACK AWAY
"Watch This!" he says..... So I reluctantly hand him my bow. He unwraps this bad boy.....touches it to the lense.......water is gone.
No water spots, no streaking, good as new.
You guys should've seen the look Mrs_Pro gave me when I got home and started stuffing my stool
Hope this helps you guys out of a jam sometime
