Here is a little recipe I have been using for years, I thought maybe some of you might like it also. Perfect for your next hunting trip breakfast.
Premix 2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 tablespoon of sugar and a 1/4 cup of powdered milk.(Multiply ratio as needed.)
Scoop 2 cups of mix into a bowl, add one cup of water a little at a time, while kneading.(Raisins or fruit optional.)
Spread dough evenly in a well oiled pan. Cook slowly until browned. Oil top and flip over. Check for stickiness in center. None? slice, butter, Jam and enjoy!
May also be cooked on a stick over a fire.
Happy eating!
P.S. I will post some more of my favorites when I get some more time.

I told the warden I was gonna send him a few recipes, figured this would be a good time to do atleast one :-).

hi,
I'm new to the forum - found it via a google search for "bannock recipe".
I thought this recipe was great because it uses no lard/fat/shortening which would go rancid when hiking or fishing during hot weather. Thank you for posting it.
BTW, I put a full batch on the top rack of the bbq while grilling something else. I brushed a bit of oil on the loaf and turned it over onto the rack. When the bottom was brown I brushed a bit of oil on the top and turned it. It came out great. Next time I'll do it in two smaller loaves to make it easier to handle on the grill.
